Day 1Makassar to SengkangL
Meet your guide at Makassar Airport and drive to Sengkang, stopping for local houses and lunch. Take a boat trip on Lake Tempe to see the floating homes of Bugis fishing communities. Stay overnight in Sengkang.
Day 2Silk Weaving and the Road to TorajaB/L
Visit Sengkang’s silk-weaving centre, then travel to Toraja via Palopo. Stop at Puncak Paredean for mountain views and continue to Rantepao for the night.
Day 3Lemo, Nonongan, Londa and Kete KesuB/L
Visit the tau-tau at Lemo, the tree burial site at Nonongan and the cave tombs at Londa. After lunch in Rantepao, continue through Karuaya and walk to Kete Kesu. Return to your hotel.
Day 4Northern Toraja VillagesB/L
Visit Pallawa and Sa’dan To’baranna, then continue to Tinimbayo and Lokomata. After lunch, walk from Batu Tumonga to Lempo and visit the stone menhirs at Bori.
Day 5Toraja to MakassarB/L
Return to Makassar by road, with a lunch stop in Parepare. Check in to your Makassar hotel in the afternoon.
Day 6Makassar City and DepartureB/L
Visit Fort Rotterdam and Paotere Harbour. After lunch, transfer to Sultan Hasanuddin Airport for your onward journey.
